Ed has been involved with the fire service at the local, regional and state levels over the years.  He served as President of the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation from 2004-2007.  He is a member of many national and international fire service organizations.  Ed is a strong supporter of the fire service.  When asked why he sought this position, Ed was quick to say that he wanted to help firefighters and the fire service on a larger stage.  Ed most certainly has the ability to do that.
